Tuvya Zaretsky

Tuvya Zaretsky is Director of Staff Development and Chief of Station at the Los Angeles office of Jews for Jesus.  Though raised in the traditions of American Judaism, he became disenchanted with religion and was involved with the 1960’s counter-culture.  The search for spiritual truth led him to read the New Testament and, at the urging of a colleague, he prayed that the God of Abraham would reveal Himself.  His prayer was answered as he came to believe that Jesus is the Messiah.  He was discipled in Israel after which he volunteered with the Jews for Jesus movement in San Francisco.  He was the first field missionary with the ministry and was an early member of the Liberated Wailing Wall, Jews for Jesus’ music and drama team.  He has written and recorded for some of their albums, written articles for publications and Gospel tracts, represented Jews for Jesus at international meetings, and served as dean of a summer study program for seminarians in Israel.  He currently serves as the president of the Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism (LCJE).
